Dear friends of the Lirot Association,
It is difficult to describe in words what the State of Israel and all of us have been through, in the past few weeks, with the war with Iran.
But despite the severe blows, alongside the military successes,
we do not forget the 50 living and deceased hostages who must be released as soon as possible!

We are pleased to share with you some of our activity in the past few months.
Wishing you a peaceful and enjoyable summer season,
Nadine Hollander, CEO of the Lirot Association
The Association Team, the Board of Directors, and the Friends Association

Eye tests in the community

Even during the war, we continued the activity of eye examinations in the community, in nursing homes and through home visits.
We would like to thank Tzedekiah Baruch and Dr. Meir Yehezkel for their activity during this period.

On days of eye exams by an ophthalmologist, we examine elderly people who are confined to nursing homes because the nursing home is unable to bring them for periodic exams to the health insurance funds.

We, at the Lirot Association, arrive with an ophthalmologist and perform the exams, in order to save the examinees from vision loss and prevent blindness.
Among the findings that emerged:
  • An elderly woman who suffers from central vision loss and experiences vision loss received assistance in filling out an application form for a blind certificate, which will give her rights and assistance with maintenance expenses in a nursing home;
  • An examination of an elderly woman who had borderline elevated intraocular pressure. Without the exam, the pressure could have caused serious damage to visual acuity.

Many thanks to everyone who came.

Protective Glasses for Soldiers

Fighting Has Resumed, and Requests for Protective Glasses Are Pouring In Again
Commanders are once again reaching out, requesting protective eyewear for their soldiers. Here is an example of a recent request:

"Our battalion went on its first break since October 7th, and we discovered a huge gap in the availability of protective glasses. We have no way to provide them, and as the logistics officer, I searched for possible sources and came across your incredible donation initiative. I wanted to ask—would it be possible to assist our soldiers?"

At this time, all funds raised through our crowdfunding campaign have been utilized. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to purchase and distribute over 500 pairs of protective glasses to combat soldiers.

Now, word is spreading, and the need continues to grow.
Help us support the soldiers who protect us day and night—so we never have to turn down a single request.
