Dear friends and donors of the Lirot Association,

With each day that passes, we hear of more and more soldiers who are injured or killed, both in the south and in the north border of Israel.
Each time, our hearts break again and it’s getting increasingly hard to bear the difficult news.

Unfortunately, the end of the war is not yet in sight, but we at the Lirot Association continue working, despite the many challenges, for our beneficiaries.

And what project could be more fitting to achieve the mission that we were founded to pursue: promoting eye health and preventing blindness among the population, than a crowdfunding campaign we will launch on November 11, to purchase protective glasses for our combat soldiers?

This project has been ongoing since the beginning of the war, but now we are launching the campaign, as not a day passes without us getting new requests from combat soldiers in need for new protective eye glasses.

This campaign is special to us:
Like every nonprofit, we have raised funds in the past, but this time, we are launching an “Ambassador Campaign.”
This means that we’re asking you: our donors and friends - not only to donate (and thank you so much for that), but also to help us spread the word, expand our impact, and reach as many people as possible.

If you’re willing to help, please fill out this short form so you can get your own personal link to distribute. If you are not sure and have any questions, please feel free to reply to this mail.

Thank you very much in advance.

In addition to the project, we wanted to share with you some eye health news and a few emotional tributes, that have been held to remember the October 7th massacre in Israel.

Sincerely yours,
Nadine Hollander, CEO Lirot association
Lirots staff, Lirots Friend association and Lirots Board members

"The best-worst job in the world"
Prof. Noam Shomron
One year after the October 7th war, Prof. Noam Shomron, a lecturer heading the research lab at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, a co-founder of the Applied Genomics Unit at the university and a member of the Scientific Council of the Lirot Association, is telling his story as a reserve IDF genomics scientist, who's work in the forensic lab is both rewarding and heartbreaking.

BELLA CIAO - RANA CHOIR (Farsi, Hebrew, Arabic)
from the Youtube channel
Rana choir is an Arab-Jewish women's choir from Jaffa that operates from the belief in the power of shared creation and song to foster dialogue and create an intercultural and human bridge even in the most challenging of contexts.
They recorded this emotional song more than a year ago, as a gesture of solidarity with the courageous Iranian women, in their struggle against oppression.
It was inspired by their version of the world war ll song, that became an international anthem for freedom.
The clip was filmed recently, in the shadow of this wretched war and is dedicated to all women (and children, and men) who live in war zones.
