Dear Lirot friends and donors,

Passover will be celebrated next week around the world
and it is difficult to imagine that we are still in war
and that the hostages are still not home!

So many families are still displaced, especially in the North part of Israel
but at Lirot we try to work as much as normally as we can.

We had a very interesting ''eye health awareness'' month in March
and now we are working on new programs to be developed in 2024.

You are invited to read about our special projects during the war
in this newsletter.
Thanks to your contribution in 2023, we were able to carry out
extensive activities in the field of vision, eye health and prevention of blindness.

We wish you and your family a happy Passover and hope for the ending of the war in Israel.

Facebook campaign in 3 languages: Hebrew, Russian and Arabic on diabetes and eyes awareness
Diabetes can cause damage to the eyes and even loss of vision.
In the early stages of the injury, there are no preliminary signs and visual acuity may be normal.
Therefore, it is important that every person who suffers from diabetes, perform a periodic eye examination, in order to detect the signs of the disease, as early as possible.

Glasses donation for the soldiers at war

With the outbreak of the war, about a hundred fighters were injured in their eyes, some of them lost their sight. The injuries are the result of shrapnel, shrapnel and gunshot wounds, some of which occurred because the fighters were not wearing protective glasses.

We at the Lirot association have also received and still receive many inquiries to purchase protective glasses for combat soldiers.
We order the special glasses from abroad and deliver them to the soldiers in the field.

New Programs in development and budget requirements

Passover is an opportunity for another tax-deductible donation,
which will allow us to continue working for the entire society,
especially now, during the "Iron Swords" operation.

Thanking you in advance for your contribution and hoping for better days for all of us,
Nadine Hollander, CEO of the Lirot association, [email protected]
