Call for Proposals: 2024 China-Israel Scientific Research Program

This program aims to foster scientific and technological collaboration between Chinese and Israeli researchers, bolstering the partnership between research groups in both countries.

Focus Areas for this Call:

1)  Water Technology: Including a focus on seawater desalination and drinking water purification.

2)  Agricultural Field: Including a focus on food with high nutritional value and reducing food waste.

Budget: 380,000 NIS total.

Duration: 2 years.

Important Note: Chinese researchers who missed the initial deadline can submit proposals between March 7 and March 21, 2024.

The Dairy Committee

Call for Proposals: 'Methods, means and tools for coping with the effects of the war on the dairy industry'

This call is multidisciplinary and will focus on various aspects such as health, physiological aspects, nutrition, milk production and quality, manpower, fertility and animal welfare.

Research must include suggested future solutions to possible emergency situations such as the war.

Duration: 1 year.

Budget: 100,000 NIS total.

Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)

Call for Proposals: Implementation research for cancer prevention in Europe

This call is aimed at supporting implementation research for cancer prevention in Europe. Its aim is to help integrate proven methods of preventing cancer into healthcare systems across Europe, thus lessening the impact of cancer.

Applicants should involve groups of two to four PIs from host institutions in multiple EU Member States or eligible non-EU countries (Israel), with at least one institution from Denmark, the Netherlands, or Sweden.

Duration: 2 year.

Budget: €500,000 total.

Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF)

Call for Pre-Proposals: Strategic Priorities

EREF is seeking proposals that align with its mission to address all areas of integrated solid waste management with a strong focus on increasing sustainable solid waste management practices.

Proposals should contribute to understanding and improving various aspects of solid waste management, such as waste reduction, recycling, composting, waste-to-energy technologies, landfill management, and other related areas.

Duration: No fixed limit. Grant are usually 2-3 years. 

Budget: No fixed rate. Grant amounts range from $15,000 to $500,000.

Call for Proposals: Food and Nutrition 2024

The IIA invites academic researchers to apply for funding in collaboration with Israeli industry and driving applied research in the field of food and nutrition in collaboration with BARD approved study and leading corporations. 

Key Topics for this call:

•    Improving food and nutrition.
•    Increasing the variety of food sources and the availability of food for use.
•    Healthy consumption.

Budget: Up to 550,000 NIS per year.

Duration: 2 years.

Special note: Submission for this call requires:

  • Collaboration with an American researcher with BARD-approved study - see the full list.
  • An industrial collaborator - contact BGN for matching with an industrial partner if needed.

This is a two-staged submission. Applications are submitted by BGN.

The Innovation Authority invites academic researchers to apply to participate in a new Maagad Program led by Shapir Engineering. The consortium aims to develop cutting-edge technologies in construction materials, emphasizing the utilization of Artificial Intelligence-driven design tools to achieve performance and sustainability goals.  

Topics of Interest:

  • Advanced cement and concrete materials, additives and innovative technologies and additives, construction, resistance to ground noise and shielding.
  • Artificial intelligence assisted planning.
  • Climate and the environmental impact reduction
  • Advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Industrialized construction
  • Infrastructure development
  • Construction engineering algorithms

Budget: Up to 550,000 NIS for 18 months.

Duration: 3 years.
