Starting the Academic Year
The Technion opens the 2025–26 academic year with 2,314 new undergraduate students - a 12% increase from last year. The total number of undergraduate students has also grown significantly and now stands at 11,187. The most in-demand programs are Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Entrepreneurship Is in Our DNA
The Technion has entered the global top ten in PitchBook’s University Entrepreneurship Rankings, which rank universities based on the number of startup founders among their alumni.
The End of Stitches?
Dr. Shady Farah of the Wolfson Faculty of Chemical Engineering has developed an intelligent biological adhesive for tissue repair that may reduce the need for sutures and medical staples.
New Appointments in Technion Management
The Technion has announced four new senior appointments, effective this month: Prof. Danny Raz – Senior Executive Vice President, Prof. Oded Rabinovitch – Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Lihi Zelnik-Manor – Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development and Prof. Yuval Garini – Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations.
