Projects in Medicine and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences
Fritz Thyssen provides direct support for science and research at universities primarily in Germany, with an opportunity for German researchers to work with their counterparts abroad on collaborative undertakings. The RDA recommends submission by a German PI as lead applicant.
These grants support projects that have potential to significantly improve maternal and infant health outcomes across the US, addressing critical health challenges in this field (Must have relevance to the U.S. healthcare system).
Areas of research:
Spontaneous preterm birth
Cardiovascular health conditions developed during pregnancy or exacerbated during pregnancy
Racial inequities as they relate to morbidity, mortality, and access to care
International Networks of Excellence in Cardiovascular and Neurovascular Research
Leducq Foundation looks to support original and outstanding research in the areas of cardiovascular and neurovascular disease. Applicants should aim for results that have the potential to advance the diagnosis, management, or prevention of human disease.
Interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged. 3-6 participating institutions per network. Must include researchers from two different continents.
The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety
Smart Transportation and Transportation Infrastructure
The goal of this call is to foster multidisciplinary and innovative research. This effort is aimed at leading-edge solutions for development, maintenance, and traffic management. Researchers are invited to submit research proposals in two areas: smart transportation and transportation infrastructure.
Ceva is seeking researchers with expertise in signal processing, deep learning, and audio/speech processing research. Ideal candidates will have experience in designing, training, and optimizing neural network architectures for audio-related tasks, along with strong Python programming skills for algorithm development and evaluation on resource-constrained platforms.
BGN has two current research collaboration opportunities:
1. Accelerometer Assisted Noise Reduction
Enhance speech quality and reduce noise interference for low-resource TinyML devices by developing dual sensing integration algorithms.
Use deep learning and signal processing for speech enhancement.
Create real-time noise estimation techniques.
2. AI-Based Dual-Mic Noise Reduction
Develop and optimize AI-based dual-microphone noise reduction algorithms for TinyML devices to improve speech intelligibility and audio quality while reducing computational and memory overhead.
Create AI algorithms using spatial cues.
Test the algorithms in realistic scenarios.
Implement energy-efficient solutions for small devices like wearables, IoT sensors, and edge devices.
