In a couple of hours Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu will open his speech in the US Congress.
For us, his trip holds no significance unless it includes the words: "There is a deal."
These words contain everything necessary to begin a process of national healing. They embody the essence of mutual responsibility and mark the end of abandonment and sacrifice of citizens whose safety was violated.
We hope to hear those words.
Yagev & Alex
Yesterday we woke up again to terrible news. Two hostages, still in captivity, are dead. Yagev Buchshtab (35) and Alex Dancyg (76) were both kidnapped alive and should have returned alive to their families and to their country. Yagave was a sound technician by profession, and had a deep passion for music. Alex was a historian, educator, and farmer and worked at Yad Vashem for 30 years. We extend our deepest condolences to the Buchshtab and Dancyg families, and wish this nightmare to end.
SAVE LIVES! SIGN THE DEAL!
In a powerful display of solidarity and urgency, dozens of family members of hostages gathered in front of the Capitol hours ago.
Statements were given by Hamas captivity survivor Aviva Siegel, wife of Israeli-American hostage Keith Siegel; Alon Gat, brother of Carmel Gat; Michael Levy, brother of Or Levy; and Carmit Palty-Katzir, sister of Elad Katzir, who was taken hostage alive, murdered in captivity, and whose body was later returned to Israel by IDF forces.
This installation comes to remind everyone what victory looks like. Victory is family reunification. Netanyahu - SAVE LIVES! SIGN THE DEAL! Do not return to Israel empty-handed!
Almog Meir Jan’s Interview
Hamas captivity survivor, Almog Meir Jan (21) spoke about his experience in captivity for the first time. He was rescued by the IDF during "Operation Arnon" on June 8th, along with three other hostages: Andrey Kozlov (27), Shlomi Ziv (41), and Noa Argamani (26).
"The slightest thing could trigger a punishment - tying our arms to a stick, putting a pen in our mouths, covering our mouth. telling us not to talk or lean on anything. It could be a day, two days, one week".
