Earthquake Preparedness
The Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology and the Interministerial Steering Committee for Earthquake Preparedness are working to promote applied research activities in academia and research institutions to enhance Israel's preparedness for an earthquake disaster.

Smart Transportation and Transportation Infrastructure
The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, is enhancing national smart transportation capabilities through applied research in academia and institutes. They collaborate with Netivei Israel, which oversees the intercity roads and railways, to foster multidisciplinary and innovative research. This effort is aimed at leading-edge solutions for development, maintenance, and traffic management.
This call for proposals invites researchers to submit research proposals in two areas: smart transportation – initiated by the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety (MoT), and transportation infrastructure – initiated by Netivei Israel (NI).

Alternative Proteins
The Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology and The Good Food Institute Israel aim to promote research and development activities in the field of alternative proteins through funding groundbreaking research with the potential to advance the field. This call for proposals seeks innovative research proposals that present scientific and technological solutions in the areas of cultured meat, fermentation, and plant-based alternatives.
Research topics:
Reducing the costs of producing cultured meat
Improving the nutritional and functional composition of plant-based protein sources
The "Children and Youth at Risk" foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, Welfare, and Social Services, is announcing this call for research teams to accompany the 'Preparation for Life' program with a detailed evaluation study.
The research aims to design an optimal operational model and scientifically assess the program's effectiveness in meeting its objectives and its impact on individual participants and the wider community. The research team will evaluate the program and the overall project, ensuring that the evaluation captures the diversity of participant populations and intervention methods, aligns interventions with participant needs, and maintains consistency in the operational model.
Budget: ₪ 600,000
Duration: The research is planned to last for at least 60 months
The National Insurance Institute, in partnership with the Jerusalem Municipality is publishing this call for proposals to find a research team that will accompany the "Noam" program - Disconnected Arab Youth, in an evaluation research.
Program Goals:
Identify at-risk youth and young adults in East Jerusalem
Make resources more accessible, including establishing joint work interfaces
Reduce instances of violence and vandalism
Reduce inactivity
Strengthen the sense of belonging to society and the community
Budget: ₪ 400,000
Duration: The research is planned to last for at least 39 months
The NII announces a research grant and pilot testing of programs in the fields of social insurance and welfare, with the goal of expanding the knowledge and research infrastructure in its operational areas, for the planning of social insurance, and on topics related to socio-economic policy, the labor market, and welfare services.

Social insurance programs of the NII
Social Security financing
Demography
Global trends and their direct and indirect impacts on social security systems
Tax systems and their implications for social security in the broader sense
Plant Sciences / Agriculture and the Social Sciences
This program, made possible through the generosity of the late Sol Leshin, funds
collaboration and cooperation between BGU and UCLA in the field of Plant/Agricultural sciences and Social sciences. The program funds: joint research projects; exchange visits; joint workshops; and support for research students. There is a stated preference for younger researchers.

Israeli Innovation Authority
Applied Research Track (Kamin)
The track encourages applied research with innovative technological feasibility originating in academia. The main goal is to bring the project to a stage where an Israeli commercial industrial company will adopt it with the aim of developing a product.

Budget: An institution that operates alone will receive an investment of 75%-85%, with a maximum amount of 440,000₪ per year

Deadlines (2 submission rounds):
1. The first round is open for submissions until 08/07/2024. Those who submit in this round are expected to receive the Authority’s answer by mid-October 2024.
2. The second round is open for submissions until 21/08/2024. Those who submit in this round are expected to receive the Authority’s answer by mid-December 2024.
