2024 Pilot Award
The Pilot Award supports high-risk, exploratory research in autism with transformative potential. It is ideal for newcomers to the autism field and encourages linking ASD risk factors to biological or behavioral mechanisms to develop new interventions, including studies in human subjects.
The Foundation's support is primarily provided for the historical humanities, in particular to support research projects in Archaeology, History of Art, Historical Islamic Studies, History, History of Law, History of Science, Prehistory and Early History
The Gerda Henkel Foundation has launched a new funding initiative for democracy, divided into two sections:
»
Initiative Democracy
(1) "Democracy as a Utopia, Experience, and Threats," examines the shift from an essentially pro-European stance toward an anti-European discourse.
(2) "Transformations of Democracy? Or: The Contours of Future Democratic Society," to understand the political, technological, social dimensions of future Europe.
This funding program supports interdisciplinary projects that explore abandoned cities, emphasizing causal relationships across different cultures and specific historical contexts. There should be a focus on causal correlations, both with regard to specific individual cultures and spanning all cultures, and on specifics of place and time.
