Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF)    
Acceleration Grants in Cancer Research (LOI)    

The Acceleration Grants in Cancer Research are intended to speed up the understanding of the biology underlying cancer and to provide new knowledge that will rapidly enhance the development of innovative therapeutics. Grant applications responding to this call must propose highly-innovative approaches that have the promise of pioneering new ways of thinking about cancer biology and therapeutics. 

ICRF Acceleration Grants are intended to support the research of established investigators. 

The RDA office is aware of the short time till the deadline, but the foundation announcement was forwarded to the RDA this week.

Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) and City of Hope  
Jacki and Bruce Barron Cancer Research Scholars' Program 
 
 
The "Jacki and Bruce Barron Cancer Research Scholars' Program" has been established to foster outstanding collaborative research and promote the exchange of ideas between exceptional researchers in the United States and Israel.  The overarching goal of this program is to advance the understanding of cancer and develop life-saving therapies, novel diagnostic approaches and/or prevention strategies by leveraging the knowledge and expertise of scientists in the two countries. 

The two interrelated components of the program are:
1. Collaborative grants to scientists at City of Hope and in Israel that would meet the highest standards of peer-reviewed research.
2. An annual symposium that will bring researchers from the United States and Israel together to share research discoveries.

USAID Grants 

Middle East Regional Cooperation (MERC) - Pre Proposals


MERC funds are available for peer-reviewed collaborative applied research and technology development proposals for projects between Israel and its Arab neighbors*. Most projects are within the broad areas of the natural, physical, and social sciences and engineering. Investigators are also encouraged to integrate social science approaches, economics, and the use of information technology, when appropriate.

* Please Note: At the moment, Palestinian partners are not eligible.

 
Please note, a hard copy must be made, which must arrive at the Washington offices by the actual deadline (in addition to an electronic copy).

Cancer Research Institute (CRI) 

Lloyd J. Old STAR Program


The Lloyd J. Old STAR Program provides grants to mid-career scientists. This long-term funding is not tied to a specific research project, but rather aims to provide flexibility and freedom for investigators to explore out-of-the-box and disruptive avenues of research. 

This new initiative will provide long-term funding to mid-career scientists: tenure-track assistant professors (minimum 3 years) and associate professors (maximum 3 years), in the field of cancer immunotherapy.

 The Leakey Foundation 

Human Origins Research Fund


The Leakey Foundation exclusively funds research into human origins, including paleoanthropology, genetics, primate behavior and the behavioral ecology of contemporary hunter-gatherers.

 The National Geographic 

 RFP and Exploration Grants opportunities


The National Geographic Society awards grants for conservation, education, research, storytelling, and technology through its Committee for Research and Exploration. All proposed projects must be novel and exploratory. 

Two tracks are currently available:

Aligning Science Across Parkinson's - ASAP 

Collaborative Research Network


ASAP is a coordinated research initiative to advance targeted basic research for Parkinson’s disease. The Michael J. Fox Foundation has been significantly involved in establishing ASAP and is an active partner in the implementation of this funding program. 

ASAP seeks to fund research projects to address key knowledge gaps in the basic mechanisms that contribute to Parkinson’s development and progression.

Applications must focus on one of the following scientific themes:
1. Biology of PD-associated Genetics
2. Neuro-immune Interactions

Horizon 2020  - Save the date!
BGU ICT Info Day Call 2020

The R&D Authority at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev cordially invites you to a presentation on the Horizon 2020 ICT Work Programme 2020 Open Calls.

The presentation on the ICT Topics will be presented by Danny Seker, Director of the Programs ICT and FET and Nir Shaked Head of ICT Sector at ISERD – Israel’s official liaison to Europe’s Horizon 2020 Research Programme.
