Call for Proposals
 
 
JSPS-ISF Joint Academic Research Program-
Life Sciences and Medicine  
 
The program promotes research collaboration among Israeli and Japanese scientists, with support provided by an agreement between the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). 
 
Two proposals are to be submitted:
  • The Japanese collaborator will submit an application to the JSPS (in Japanese). 
  • The Israeli researcher will submit an administrative application.
Areas of research: cooperation in the fields of Life Sciences and Medicine.  
 
 
Prior registration at ISF Online is mandatory by August 06, 2019   (13:00 pm)
RDA Deadline: an administrative application for the Israeli PI must be submitted by August 07, 2019.

DFG Middle East Collaborations - Open Call
 
The DFG supports research projects carried out by German researchers in partnership with Israeli researchers, with the aim to strengthen cooperation between researchers in the two countries. 
 
This is a highly competitive funding source with a high success rate.   Over the past five years, BGU has participated in over 40 submissions with a ~37% success rate, with grants being awarded to researchers in all fields and from all faculties.
 
Note: Submission is by the  German scientist only.


The deadline is open throughout the year and funding supports research activities in all fields of basic science

CEFIC-LRI European Chemical Industry Council - Long Range Initiative Calls
 

The Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) programme of the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) funds scientific studies related to the safety of chemicals and to the improvement of our understanding of their potential health and environmental risks.
LRI is now accepting grant applications to carry out research in the specific research areas listed in the link below.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention -
Grants Cycle 2019-2020
 
AFSP Suicide Research Grants support studies aimed at increasing our understanding of the causes of suicide and factors related to suicide risk, or that test treatments and other interventions designed to prevent suicide. At least one suicide outcome measure must be included in all grant projects. AFSP also considers studies of treatment feasibility, and studies that add a suicide component (e.g., population or treatment) to an existing grant in another area.

The Frick Foundation for ALS Research
Research Grants (early-career scientists)

The aim of the Foundation is to encourage basic biomedical research related to understanding the cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
 
Who can apply: Researchers of any nationality with 5 years of experience since completion of their PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.

BARD - US-Israel Binational Agricultural R&D Fund
Call for Workshop
 
The objective of the BARD workshop is to identify research needs in areas of new
development, to define directions and opportunities regarding contemporary
agricultural needs and provide information needed to address policy issues .
 
The   workshop is intended to promote increased contact between Israeli and US
scientists , and other scientists throughout the world who work in academic and
industrial communities in areas related to the binational agricultural interests of
BARD.
 
Workshops cannot be scheduled prior to September 1 of the award year.
