Tenure-Track Position in Remote Sensing
In recent years, dryland agriculture has become an essential factor in the global economy due to human population growth and climate change with their severe consequences for worldwide food and water security.
The French associates Institute for Agriculture and Biotechnology of Drylands is seeking for candidates with an excellent research record and with educational competence in the field of remote sensing for agricultural and related environmental applications. Priorities will be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise in topics including earth observation systems, spectroscopy, spatiotemporal modeling, big-data analytics and advanced imaging processing methods. These skills should be with an emphasis on either one or combination of plant and soil applications, water and nutrient assessments, land-use/land-cover monitoring, high-throughput phenotyping by multi-platform technologies, crop yield forecasting, as well as ecosystem services.
Successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program with specific reference to challenging environments (e.g. arid and semi-arid regions), supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, demonstrate scientific leadership, obtain competitive research grants, and contribute to departmental and faculty activities and excellence.
Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate post-doctoral experience and a substantial record of scientific achievement in one of the above-mentioned topics.
Documents should include: Curriculum Vitae, a Letter of Intent including current and future research activities, a teaching mission statement, and names and contact details of four referees familiar with your professional background.
Application Instructions: Please submit the following documents in a single PDF file to Prof. Naftali Lazarovitch at [email protected] (indicate “Faculty Position in Remote Sensing” in the subject line).
