NEW - RDA Online Forms


The Research and Development Authority and the Department of Organization and Methods are pleased to announce that, as part of streamlining and service improvement, the following online forms ("TISANIM") are available for use:


 

These forms will also be available for mobile phones.  

We hope that those processes will be more accesible and easy to handle.

NEW- ISF - MidCareer Equipment Grant
INTERNAL APPLICATION


The Israel Science Foundation (ISF) has a new program that offers mid-career university faculty members (Associate Professors or Full Professors only) funds to purchase scientific equipment.

A mid-career faculty member will be defined as someone who first joined the academic system in Israel, as a full-time faculty member, over the past 10-22 years. Eligibility is calculated from the date when the researcher officially entered academia (not necessarily the date the researcher joined the BGU faculty) and until the date of the deadline to submit this grant (December 2019, not the date on which the grant will be activated).

Amount of funding: ISF funding will be up to 910,000 NIS (i.e., up to 75% of the total cost) and contingent on a commitment from the host institution to match at least 25% of the ISF contribution. Number of grants available to each institution: up to 4 grants.

Note: The equipment cannot have already been ordered/purchased.

The applications for this program are handled by an internal committee chaired by Prof. Raz Jelinek.

The Israel Ministry of Environmental Protection and The European Union's BiodivERsA Project    
Climate Change and Biodiversity


The Ministry of Environmental Protection, together with BiodivERsA (a European Union's funded project) , have issued a call for proposals for researchers in the field of climate change and biodiversity.

Priorities of the call:
  • Consequences of climate change on biodiversity and nature’s contributions to people
  • Climate-biodiversity feedback processes
  • Potential of nature-based solutions for mitigating and adapting to climate change
  • Synergies and trade-offs between policies on biodiversity, climate and other relevant sectors, and the role of agents of change.

The project must be transnational project involving eligible partners from at least three different countries participating in the call.

Submission of pre-proposals to this call will be to both BiodivERsA  Project online and to the  Ministry of Environmental Protection tenders.

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Simons Foundation 

The Origin of the Eukaryotic Cell


The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and Simons Foundation have issued a joint call for proposals for the Moore–Simons Project on the Origin of the Eukaryotic Cell

Under this call, the foundations invite proposals for novel research on the origin of the eukaryotic cell, including the processes that may have led to the emergence of the first eukaryotic common ancestor (FECA) and how FECA evolved into the last eukaryotic common ancestor (LECA). 

Disciplines and approaches that are encouraged to apply include, but are not limited to cell biology, evolution, ecology, earth and aquatic sciences, paleontology, genomics, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, biophysics and chemistry.
