The Ministry of Energy – Call for Energy and Earth & Sea Sciences Call

Important Announcement


After carefully reviewing the terms of the contract, it has been ascertained that the Ministry of Energy has changed the conditions of the contract and the terms of submission for this call.

As a result, the Ministry has been approached to devise changes. At the moment, BGU has not given approval for submission. This includes submissions made in cooperation with other institutions.

Israel Ministry of Agriculture - "Nitzan - Noah's Ark" Program – Algae Call

Change of Submission Date


The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced new timelines for the "Nitzan – Noah's Ark" Algae call. 

As a result, the RDA Deadline has been changed accordingly (see below).


Reminder: The proposal must be supervised by B.G. Negev  (see below for contact person), and final submission is by the RDA to the Ministry.

Special Programme Security, Society and the State


As security-related issues, the fading role of the state and the gradual elimination of borders are central themes in both political and scholarly debates today. "Failing states" as a safe haven for terrorists, transnational organized crime, a loss of overall legitimacy, shrinking state authority in conflict-ridden regions are the relevant keywords in this context.


Topic focuses:

  1. Challenges of new technologies
  2. Public Policy and Human Security
  3. Patterns of Conflict Resolution between the State and Traditional Actors
  4. Non-Governmental Actors as Partners and Contenders of the State

Michael J. Fox Foundation - Parkinson’s Therapeutic Development

The Michael J. Fox Foundation is now accepting pre-proposals for clinical and pre-clinical research for Parkinson's therapeutics.
The Foundation is particularly interested in antisense strategies as novel treatments for Parkinson's disease, as well as biological, pharmacological, surgical, non-invasive/non-pharmaceutical and gene therapy approaches.

Pre-proposals must address one of the following treatment challenges:
  • Protection or restoration of degenerating and/or dysfunctional neurons
  • Alleviation of disabling motor or non-motor symptoms
  • Reduction of complications and side effects of current treatments

Alzheimer's Research UK - Pilot Projects

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.   
The Pilot project scheme is meant for novel research ideas that, if successful, would lead to a Major project or programme application to Alzheimer’s Research UK or other funding bodies.  
Note: The lead applicant and point of contact must be based in a UK academic/research institution, but the research may include international collaborators.
