Israel Ministry of Defense - Mafat - Autonomy and Deep Learning  
 
The Director of Research and Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure (MAFAT) at the Israel Ministry of Defense has issued a call for proposals on the development of technologies for autonomy and deep learning in academic research .

Internal Call - Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)
 
The Office of the Vice President and Dean of Research and Development is interested in encouraging and promoting research activities that will answer EU calls for proposals in the context of the current research program Horizon 2020, and will be followed by Horizon Europe.
 
The FET program aims to set the foundations for radically new future technologies, high risk and high-impact Interdisciplinary research:
  • Radical vision
  • Breakthrough technological target
  • Ambitious interdisciplinary research
Some of the calls are bottom-up and some subject oriented:

Project details: To treat or not to treat? Oncologists' perceptions and  experiences regarding over-treatment in end stage cancer patients    
The results of this study can be utilized to help the health system in Israel reduce the overuse of unnecessary services at the end-of-life for cancer and other terminal patients. This will not only help the system make more efficient use of funds but, more importantly, will help improve the quality of life for individuals in their last days.
